c1940s Alexander Korda "Thief of Bagdad" gilt faux pearl & multi coloured rhinestone fur clip

Alexander Korda's film "The Thief of Bagdad" was made in 1940 and a range of items associated with the film were produced for sale.

One range was costume jewellery that was apparently made by Rice-Weiner & Co of New England under license to United Artists, the US distributors - this fur clip is one of those pieces.

Made in gilt metal it is domed and set with faux pearls and multi coloured faceted marquise & pear shaped rhinestones with cold enamel grey/turquoise accents.
It has a round central section that is slightly raised above the rest of the brooch.

The back is beautifully detailed and has a bar that is stamped "Thief of Bagdad Korda".

There is a number on each end of the bar - the left hand one appears to be 113 and the right hand one appears to be 61.

The back of the clip is also engraved with a flower (possibly a rose) and leaves.
